Smart Human Tricks
- When the twins hear an airplane they point out the window or straight up (whichever's most convenient) and say "Airplane!", though it sounds more like "A-pain!"
- They've taken to "counting" things: pointing at a set of objects or images one at a time while saying what sounds like "one, two, three." I'm not sure if this is just mimicking behavior, or if they already have a concept of counting.
- Aaron points at a compact florescent bulb and says "hot!" I'm trying to get him to say "Hot! but not as hot as an incandescent bulb with the equivalent candlepower."
- If we lay out a soft blanket or quilt on the floor, the twins will lay down on it and pretend to sleep, making those "chaaaaa shooooo" fake snoring noises.
- There's a Shabbat song with only two words ("Bim bom") to which you dance the hand jive. Isaac will sing ("Bih Bah") and jive along with you.
- Shortly after Chanukah ended, we were reading a Chanukah book. When we got to a page with a Menorah, Isaac pointed at it and said Chanukah ("Ha-Kah") without prompting.
Unfortunately, these developments are hard to photographically document. Yesterday during a particularly cute airplane spotting session, Amber said "I wish I had a camera in my eye." That's probably
not too far off.
